I spotted this on Cat’s blog, Jenty’s blog and Tanya’s blog and I thought what a wonderful way to remember the kids childhoods.

So the other day I tweeted that I had some really good news and that you would have to wait until Friday to hear what it was.
Well I dont have to wait until Friday anymore.
I received a call from the Group HR manager of Dischem to tell me that the nurse that had hurt my baby had been fired. He also called to let me know that she was taking them to the CCMA and to ask if I would testify on Friday. He explained that she had been let go, not only because of our complaint but because of subsequent complaints as well but that ours was the pivotal one.
I assured him that I would be there. When I called to confirm the time today he said that he had tried to get a hold of me earlier to tell me that her lawyers had withdrawn the case from the CCMA and that he wanted to thank me for being willing to help them with my testimony.
Im am so happy that no one else will be put in that situation!
My little boy is growing up!
He has a school friend over today for a play date. They are having an absolute blast!
My baby girl has a tooth!
Thats right, a tooth, on the bottom left side. I can just see it poking out. It came out of nowhere.
Yesterday my Granny Ruby passed away. She was 94. She outlived 2 children, her husband and a grandson.
I have posted about her beautiful garden here and here. She had the greenest thumbs ever. Her gardens no matter where they lived were always magnificent. I remember playing in the garden at her home in Houghton when I was a child, there were secret pathways and huge ferns and lots of rolling lawns, a child’s paradise.
Granny Ruby and Banga Sydney were married for 67 years, he passed away almost 3 years ago. The story of there wedding is over here.
I remember being a little girl and putting on ballet recitals for my grandparents and pretending to play the harp (a childhood dream of mine). I remember baking with my Gran and having tea in real china cups.
In all my years I dont think I ever saw my Grandmother in anything other than a tailored skirt and blouse, she was always impeccably dressed, right to the end.
I was so very lucky to have both sets of Grandparents at my wedding. For a moment there we were not sure Granny Ruby and Banga Syd would be there as my Grandfather was very frail but they made it and stood under the chuppah with me. What an honour.
The birth of Aaron and then Faith, her great grandchildren, brought such joy to Granny. She loved holding them and talking to them. Her face would just light up whenever we went to visit her. Im so glad that Aaron will have some memories of his Great Granny.
Tomorrow we lay you to rest Granny Ru, give my dad a kiss from me, hug Banga and Cliff. Be at peace.
… and more sick!
It all started last weekend with Paul feeling a bit off, he went to the Dr on Monday and was diagnosed with Swine Flu. He was so sick that for the first time in 6 years he took a sick day and stayed in bed, in fact he stayed in bed for TWO days, he was that sick!
On Wednesday I woke up feeling awful and took myself off to the Dr, Swine Flu too!
In the mean time Aaron had an on again off again temperature but never really got sick and Faith became snotty, coughy and congested.
On Thursday night we barely slept because Faith couldnt sleep so I decided to take her to the Dr on Friday morning, I also tool our housekeeper, Aletta with as she was also feeling like the dogs breakfast.
Aletta was booked off and given half a pharmacy for flu and Faith was diagnosed with croup.
Again, Aaron had a temperature the whole weekend on and off but never actually got sick.
The good news is that we all seem to be on the mend and hopefully there will be no more sick in our house for a long long time!
I cannot believe how fast the last year has gone by!
A few days before mothers day last year we found out that after a year of trying we were finally pregnant with Faith. I was about 4 weeks along.
On mothers day last year we had our first family shoot with Jenty.
Look how much Aaron has grown…

I truly cannot describe how blessed I am.
We were very lucky to be invited to stay with my brother in law and his girlfriend in Cape Town over Pesach/Easter, so we packed our things (I seriously over packed mine and the kids things, could have cut all of it by half!) and off we went.
We flew Kulula and they were running about an hour late so we arrived in CT just after 1pm.
Paul spent a few days working and meeting some of his CT contacts while I chilled at the house with the kids.
On Friday morning we met up with Tertia, Heather, Sally, Tanya, Candice, Amanda, Tania (did I leave anyone out??) and a few non tweeps and most of the spouses and kids at Nitida Wine Estate. I of course brought my camera and then totally forgot to take any pictures! It was so awesome meeting all these people in real life.
We then went through to Cavendish and met up with Max, Sue, Brendon, Scott and Karen.
Next time we will definitely spend more time with all you crazy and fabulous CT tweeps!
Saturday was spent in Franschhoek and Boschendal, just the four of us and ended up on Camps Bay beach with my mom, my uncle and his two kids, my moms boyfriend, his daughter and son in law and their three kids.
Aaron wasnt too sure about the beach or the sea but before we knew it he was nekkid, building sand castles, jumping in the ‘pool’ they had built and having a grand time.
So grand in fact that he did not want to leave, nor did he want to get under the shower to wash off all the sand. Needless to say an #AaronTantrum ensued and if you were in Camps Bay on Saturday afternoon and witnessed a small nekkid boy scream his little lungs out for his mommy and daddy to ‘Just leave me alonnnnnnnnnne!!!!’ I apologise, truly, I do, no one should have to witness an #AaronTantrum, ever!
Sunday was spent at the Two Oceans Aquarium with Ash and Meg then on to lunch and then to the airport.
Kulula was actually on time and we got home just after 7pm.
Both kids were amazing on the flights, sleeping for most of the way and generally behaving themselves and charming the air stewards. Aaron even got to see inside the cockpit as we were disembarking at OR Thambo.
Other notable occurrences would be the two falls I managed to take.
On Thursday I managed to slip on the last of three steps, I was carrying two cups of coffee, the step was dry, I was bare foot, I landed on my arse and spilt most of the coffee on the floor, none on me and I didnt break the coffee cups!
On Saturday I slipped off a teeny tiny ledge outside the Boschendal gift shop, landing on my left butt cheek and my right knee (have no idea how) and I seem to have pulled a hamstring. I also managed not to break my BB which landed face down on the ground, yay me!
All in all a good trip, wish it could have been longer though, but Im happy to be home.
In two sleeps, Paul, Aaron, Faith and I will be flying to Cape Town for 6 nights.
I CANNOT wait!
It has been almost 2 years since our last holiday…
I cant wait to see Ash and Megs.
I cant wait to walk on the beach.
I even cant wait to see your moooouuuuuuntain Cape Town.
I really really cant wait!
