I have been thinking lately about how and why we chose to name Aaron, well, Aaron…
Here are my thoughts.
I have been thinking lately about how and why we chose to name Aaron, well, Aaron…
Here are my thoughts.
This morning we took Aaron to shul.
It was Simchas Torah and the atmosphere in shul was relaxed and joyous. My grandfather was given a very big honour by being called up to the Torah to read the first part of the beginning of the Torah. He has been a lifelong member of the shul and to be honoured in this way is a big deal, so we wanted to be there for him.
Aaron had a great time, he moved between sitting with mama upstairs to sitting with daddy downstairs and sitting with his Banga (my grandfather and the story of the name we call him is for another post). He played soccer outside with the big boys, got an ice-cream, played on the jungle gym, watched the men dance with the Torahs in shul, danced with mama and daddy out on the road, ate chips, drank juice, kissed the Torah and generally had a great day.
We spent the afternoon with a friend of ours, Shirley, and made toasted cheese and tomato saamies and played with Aaron. She stayed and helped bath Aaron and when it was time to go home Aaron would not let her go! He had so much fun playing with his Aunty Shirl.
Now Paul is putting him to sleep and we are getting ready to watch some TV.
What a great end to the weekend!
To the Jozikids Blog and see what I have to say…
My Mother-in-law came back from visiting my Sister-in-law and her new baby in Australia today and we got thoroughly spoilt!
So we got very very spoilt! Thank you Bobba Hilary!
My BFF, a woman I count as my sister, had her beautiful baby boy yesterday evening. He weighs 3.85kg and is 50cm long.
Welcome little man!
We are spending our braai day with friends. How are you celebrating our heritage?
I have been chosen to represent WIZO Aviv Johannesburg at the WIZO Aviv International Seminar in November.
Its 10 days in which I will get to tour all the sites that we raise funds for and attend the seminar with Avivs from all over the world.
It is such an honour to be chosen.
The cherry on the top is that I will get to spend Shabbos with my brother who will be taking leave from the army especially to see me.
I cant wait!
(I dont have a passport so I have to organise one soon!!!!)
Ok, ok, its been too long. I really need to start blogging more often. I did write another piece for Jozikids, so if you want to know all about my favourite kisses click here.
