Blogging Chicks Unite!

I have met a few of the women whose blogs I read and tomorrow I get to meet up with them as well as with a lot of other fabulous women.

We are meeting at Farenheit Grill in Edenvale at 2pm, come along and say hi!

I cant wait to see and meet all these fabulous ladies…

Bent…

I read this post by LauraKim and the first thing I thought was ‘ No way!  She has funny fingers too!’

I have what we affectionately call “Hoffmann” fingers after my fathers family who mostly all have them in varying degrees of crookedness.  My father and his father both had them, my brother Cliff has them too but my brother Matt doesn’t.  Aaron doesn’t have them either.

My baby fingers are bent inwards at the tips and have been known to freak out young children on occasion.  I also have crooked pointer fingers but they are not as bad.

And now, ladies and gentlemen, for your viewing pleasure, my baby fingers!

Leaping for Matchsticks

So sometime in the last week or so I ordered two Springleap Tees in a trade with Telana from OneMatchStick.

After a few hiccups, that Mehul at Springleap was an absolute star about, we recieved not one but two tees for Paul.

Two tees
Two tees

Mine will arrive next week as it is currently being re-printed.

If I were you, I would do both!

Mid Week Funny

Basic Flying Rules:

1. Try to stay in the middle of the air.

2. Do not go near the edges of it.

3. The edges of the air can be recognized by the appearance of ground, buildings, sea, trees and interstellar space.

4. It is much more difficult to fly there.

Invisible man??

This poem has been sneaking up on me a lot lately so I thought I would share it with you all…

Yesterday upon the stair
I saw a man who wasn’t there
He wasn’t there again today
Oh, how I wish he’d go away
When I came home last night at three
The man was waiting there for me
But when I looked around the hall
I couldn’t see him there at all!
Go away, go away, don’t you come back any more!
Go away, go away, and please don’t slam the door
Last night I saw upon the stair
A little man who wasn’t there
He wasn’t there again today
Oh, how I wish he’d go away

Atonement

This evening starts the holiest of holy days in the Jewish calendar, Yom Kippur.

A day of intense prayer and fasting in which we ask for forgivness for any wrongs commited over the past year and we repent any of those wrongs. Hopefully G-d will wipe our slate clean for the comming year.

So, I ask for forgiveness from those I have hurt intentionally or unintentionally.  May you all have a meaningful and easy fast!

Excitement

I have been chosen to represent WIZO Aviv Johannesburg at the WIZO Aviv International Seminar in November.

Its 10 days in which I will get to tour all the sites that we raise funds for and attend the seminar with Avivs from all over the world.

It is such an honour to be chosen.

The cherry on the top is that I will get to spend Shabbos with my brother who will be taking leave from the army especially to see me.

I cant wait!

(I dont have a passport so I have to organise one soon!!!!)
